Verhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law on Land Cadastre

Verhovna Rada of Ukraine on Thursday, July 7, adopted a law "On State Land Cadastre".

For adoption of the bill voted 260 members. The document defines the procedure of state registration of land. In particular, it contains a list of documents on land management and evaluation of land that is used to enter data in the land registry.

The document sets out the legal, economic and organizational basis for activities in the State Land Cadastre, according to information management of Parliament.

By law, the State Land Cadastre – a unified state GIS data on land located within the state border of Ukraine, their intended purpose, limiting their use, as well as data on the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of land, their assessment of the distribution of land among the owners and users.

A law will strengthen the guarantees of ownership rights for land in Ukraine, reduce the terms and bring down the cost of transactions.

This law is one of two necessary laws for abolishing the moratorium for selling agricultural land in Ukraine. The other law On Land Market is already approved by Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and in the nearest time will be introduced in Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
