Egyptian investor praises agricultural investment in Sudan

By Khalda Elyas,

Khartoum – Former President of the Egyptian-Sudanese Business Council, Dr. Mohamed Helmi said that investment in the agricultural sector in Sudan has great potential.

He described Sudan's farmland as the best in the world, adding that Egypt has the ability to establish large agricultural projects in Sudan.

Helmi said that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Sudan is weak, despite trade agreements.

He called for the need to activate the high joint committees between the two countries.

Helmi said that strengthening economic relations between the two countries depends on the willingness of both sides to overcome the obstacles facing trade and investment, describing the invitation made by the Egyptian President to his Sudanese counterpart to visit Egypt as a positive step.
