Limitations on the sale and purchase of farmland in Ukraine are causing difficulties in the economic development of the country, British Ambassador to Ukraine Leigh Turner told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday.

"The more state regulates and bans things, the more difficult it is to do business," he said.

Turner noted that he understood the concerns of Ukrainians about the risks that could appear after the moratorium on the sale and purchase of farmland is canceled.

"But sometimes one has to take a risk," the ambassador said.
