Cambodian farmers say EU politics forces land grabs
Farmers in Cambodia say a European free trade initiative set up to boost the Cambodian economy has instead forced them off their land. The elimination of European tariffs on Cambodian sugar has led to a land grab for sugar cane crops by international sugar producers. Now some lawmakers are trying to have the policy reversed, and the evicted farmers are sueing Britain's largest sugar company.
