SALIC integrates CFG into Olam Agri
By John Reidy
RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA — The Saudi Agriculture & Livestock Investment Company (SALIC) has completed the integration of Ukrainian subsidiary Continental Farmers Group (CFG) into Olam Agri, a global agrifood company in which it has an 80% ownership stake.
SALIC, the agricultural arm of the Public Investment Fund owned by the Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, said the integration of CFG into Olam Agri is part of its strategy to connect its global portfolio in a more efficient and resilient agrifood system that generates long-term growth and value.
CFG has undergone years of development and expansion, building a strong operational base as a leading integrated agricultural company in Ukraine since it was acquired by SALIC in 2018. The company manages nearly 200,000 hectares of agricultural land in western Ukraine, operates storage facilities with a capacity of approximately 530,000 tonnes and produces more than 1 million tonnes of grain annually.
“The move is expected to broaden CFG’s presence across agrifood value chains, enable access to new markets, and leverage Olam Agri’s commercial, operational and logistics capabilities to support its long-term growth and expansion,” SALIC said.
Singapore-based Olam Agri is a leading global agrifood company operating in more than 30 countries with extensive capabilities across sourcing, trading, processing, logistics and distribution. The integration also is expected to expand Olam Agri’s sourcing options by leveraging CFG’s agricultural and operational strengths in key crops, while improving efficiency across the value chain.
Earlier this year, SALIC increased its ownership stake in Olam Agri to 80% in a $1.88 billion transaction with Olam Group as the company continues to scale its global footprint.

The deal expands Olam Agri‘s grain sourcing and farming business in Ukraine while marking another step in its growth under SALIC ownership.
UKRAINE – Olam Agri has signed an agreement to fully integrate Continental Farmers Group (CFG), a leading agricultural company in Ukraine, into its business, strengthening its presence in one of the world’s key grain producing regions.
CFG, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of the Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC), becomes the first business to join Olam Agri since SALIC completed its purchase of a majority stake in the company in April 2026. Following the integration, SALIC’s ownership in Olam Agri will increase to 81.81% from 80.01%.
The company said the transaction will not change CFG’s daily operations. The business will continue operating independently under its current management team while making use of Olam Agri’s trading and risk management strengths. CFG Chief Executive Officer Georg von Nolcken will also join Olam Agri’s Executive Committee.
“The addition of CFG immediately strengthens our capabilities in Ukraine and our access to Central and Eastern Europe, aligned with our strategy to expand our origination footprint in key grain exporting markets. It strengthens our sourcing capabilities by anchoring origination through owned production and inland logistics assets, as well as strengthening our farming capabilities and diversifying our portfolio beyond our current trading and processing led model. This integration is clear evidence of the synergies and collaboration opportunities with SALIC. We continue to work closely to further identify and explore other opportunities in line with our business strategy and our shared focus on food security,” said Sunny Verghese, Co Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Olam Agri.
Von Nolcken said the move will help the company grow while keeping its current operating structure.
“Continental’s integration into Olam Agri’s global structure creates new opportunities for business growth and collaboration across the Group. We see this step as an additional catalyst to strengthen our position and support the implementation of our long term strategic plans. At the same time, Continental retains our existing management team, operational autonomy, and will continue to grow our business. For our employees, landowners, customers, business partners, and local communities, we remain the same Continental, a reliable partner that consistently delivers on its commitments and continues to invest in the future,” he said.
Formed in 2019 through the merger of Mriya and CFG, Continental Farmers Group operates across western Ukraine, including Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi. The company also has operations in Switzerland and Romania and employs about 2,600 people. Its business covers cereal and oilseed farming, potato processing and logistics.
The announcement follows Olam Agri’s recently released 2025 Annual Report, which showed record sales volumes, higher revenue and gains in market share. The report marked the company’s first full year as an independent business following SALIC’s majority acquisition.
Olam Agri also said it will continue investing in areas that strengthen its business while supporting food security and reported progress under its Sustainable Futures Plan, alongside Top Employer certification in 10 countries, including its sixth straight certification in Africa.
