The Haryana state government, India has signed MoU for 100,000 acres of farm land in Tanzania. The MoU said to enable Indian farmers and entrepreneurs to pursue agricultural ventures in the East African country.

The negative impacts of oil palm plantations promoted by India's national policy to increase national oil palm production are already being felt in three villages in the state of Manipur, where the area are targeted for the plantation. The turmoil it is creating at the plantation villages indicates a departure from the indigenous ways of land governance and relations to a system designed to cater to a corporate economic system.

A UAE aquaculture company linked to the ruling Al-Maktoum family of Dubai has agreed to develop an aquaculture farm and research centre in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh at an initial cost of $461 million.
The Madhya Pradesh government plans to hand over between 10 and 1,000 hectares of forest land to private agencies for 60 years in which time they can plant species of their choice, trade in forest produce, and rate the forest for carbon sequestration to earn carbon credits.
