SABA | 17 June 2026 Signing of Agreement to allocate 26,000 hectares in Hodeidah for first agricultural & investment zone
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and the General Authority for Lands signed on Wednesday an agreement to allocate and hand over 26,000 hectares of state-owned land in Al-Tuhayta District, Hodeidah Governorate, for the establishment of the First Agricultural and Investment Zone.
The agreement, signed by Acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Ammar Al-Karim and Chairman of the General Authority for Lands Judge Ibrahim Al-Mansour, aims to enhance agricultural development, expand cultivated areas, and attract quality investments to increase local production and achieve food security.
The plans and layouts for the First Agricultural and Investment Zone were approved, paving the way for the implementation of the planned agricultural and investment projects under an integrated vision aimed at sustainably utilizing available resources.
Al-Karim and Al-Mansour described the agreement as a qualitative shift in agricultural and investment development, as it provides promising opportunities to expand partnership with the private sector and encourage investors to establish modern agricultural projects that boost productivity and strengthen self-sufficiency.
They noted that allocating state land for agricultural and investment projects reflects the state’s direction to support the agricultural sector as a key pillar of economic development, opening new horizons for agricultural investment in Hodeidah, achieving sustainable development, creating job opportunities, and enhancing food security.
