Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, CON, is in Beijing to conclude talks with the Chinese Government on the Model Integrated Poultry Development Project, a major investment expected to create about 350,000 direct and indirect jobs and generate over $450 million annually.
The Honourable Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, in a statement, said the visit follows earlier discussions in Abuja with the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Yu Dunhai.
Governor Sani is in China with a Federal Government delegation led by the Director-General of the Nigeria–China Strategic Partnership, Mr. Joseph Tegba, underscoring the national relevance of the initiative.
According to the statement, the $200 million poultry project will strengthen food security, drive agro-industrialisation, boost export earnings and position Kaduna as a leading hub for modern agribusiness in Nigeria.
While in Beijing, the governor will meet China Communications Construction Company and other key partners to firm up investment commitments and deepen technical collaboration.
Maiyaki said the governor’s engagement reflects Kaduna State’s commitment to building strategic partnerships that support economic transformation. He added that the initiative will expand opportunities for young people and enhance the state’s food production capacity.
Governor Sani also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for selecting Kaduna as the pilot location for the project, and thanked the Government of the People’s Republic of China for its sustained support.
