Mauritania, Saudi Arabia sign long-term lease to boost agriculture in Brakna

The Minister of Public Domain, State Property, and Land Reform, Mr. Mamoudou Mamadou Niang, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi investment company E-Rif, Mr. Mohammed Ben Ahmed Ben Mohammed Talal, signed a long-term lease agreement on Tuesday in Nouakchott, in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, Mr. Mohamedou Ahmedou M’haimid. The agreement covers the development and operation of 53,957 hectares in the districts of Boghé and Aleg, in Brakna Wilaya.

Under the agreement, the Saudi company will invest substantial financial resources and deploy modern agricultural technologies to enhance agricultural production and strengthen national capacities in the sector.
