In this short paper, we discuss the various ways in which scholars and activists of the global food economy/regime/system examine the relationships among producers, the state and capital.
China hosted African agricultural leaders for a forum to expand and deepen cooperation, investment, and trade with African agriculture over the next 3 years. And 11 project agreements were signed by government departments, international organizations, research units, and companies, adding to 115 agricultural projects that China has in two-thirds of African countries.

A report entitled "The Real Trespassers: Landgrabbing in the Name of Palm Oil in Southern Philippines" that chronicles the findings of the International Fact-Finding Mission in Opol has been released by PAN AP.
The Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas and the Asian Peasant Coalition lambasted Nakeen Corporation, a company that operates a palm oil plantation in Misamis Oriental, for spreading lies and deception during their press conference held on May 17, 2012.
Their land and means of livelihood were taken away from them, their culture trampled upon, all in the name of public-private partnerships and foreign corporate interests.
