Sierra Leone's parliament has unanimously approved a foreign investment agreement giving Elite Agro (UAE) 14,700 hectares to grow rice for export

The Government of Sierra Leone has secured USD $ 54M for a project with the UAE's Elite Agro, to produce rice on 14,700 hectares within the Rhombe Swamp in Port Loko District.

The Minister of Environment and Forestry said she would prepare the land needed for investment by the United Arab Emirates agricultural giant, Elite Agro LLC.

Elite Agro LLC, perusahaan sektor pertanian asal Uni Emirat Arab (UEA), mulai menjajaki kerja sama bidang pertanian food estate atau lumbung pangan di Kalimantan Tengah dengan luas lahan 100 ribu hektare.

Indonesia's Minister of State-Owned Enterprises said that the aim was to boost food security in the country and improve the quality of domestically grown products to give them export value, with a view to exporting to countries in Africa and the Middle East.

Elite Agro, a producer and distributor of fresh fruit and vegetables from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, will invest in Subang, West Java, Indonesia.
