Qatar announces readiness for further investments in Sudan

Khartoum - President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir has concluded yesterday his one-day visit to Qatar during which he met Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Khalifa Al Thani the Emir of the State of Qatar and reviewed with him a number of issues of mutual concern and the developments of the situations in the Arab region at the regional and international levels.

Al Bashir said Sudan is approaching a new stage in which the homeland shall recover from wars and disputes which depleted its resources and opened the door for foreign adverse meddling in its affaires.

He added that the program of the government till the year 2016 is trending to ending rebellion and the small groups spinning out of control and settling decisively tribal disputes and existing the square of security disputes to stability and completing the upheaval, strengthening Sudan’s external relations, with Arab sisterly country and the African neighborhood countries and its friend all over the world.

Al Bashir affirmed Sudan’s warm welcome to the Qatari investors to invest in the projects of Arab food security as Sudan has currently availed more than two million acres appropriate for cultivation and free from prohibitions disputes along with investment in the fields of gas extraction and generating cheap electricity power to support agriculture investments.

The President called for developing economic cooperation into an economic integration streamlined in the benefit of the two sisterly peoples.

Al Bashir voiced during the summit his appreciation to Qatar state both the government and the people for their tireless efforts in support of the progress of peace in Sudan noting that Doha agreement has realized all the demands of the people of Darfur highlighting Sudan’s decision of approving it as a final document for resolving Darfur problem and calling all the rebel movements carrying arms to join this document so that peace may be accomplished in the country.

Al Bashir saluted the stances of Qatar in support of the progress of the economy in Sudan via the Qatari investments that contributed to Sudan’s overcoming the adverse effects emanating from the secession of south Sudan and petroleum exit of the economic equation.

For his part Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani has expressed thanks to President Al Bashir for the gracious visit he paid to Doha outlining his satisfaction on the two countries agreement on the current issues put forward on the two regional and international levels.

He said the support of Qatar to Sudan is a duty supported by the fraternal relations stressing readiness of Qatar to boost these relations for the benefit of the two fraternal peoples announcing Qatar’s acceptance of implementing extra investments in Sudan wishing for Sudan further stability, advancement and prosperity.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Karti said the visit comes in response to an invitation extended by Emir of Qatar to the President of the Republic during their meeting on the sidelines of Sharm Al-Shiekh Summit for supporting the Egyptian economy.
