New Delhi, Feb 1 (IANS) With a view to take advantage of India's expertise in the agriculture sector, Ethiopia Tuesday urged Indian investors to help develop commercial farming in the country.
'Indian farmers can avail the opportunity of vast farming land set aside by Ethiopia for commercial farming and grow pulses and edible oil crops for export to India,' said Ethiopian Agriculture Minister Tefera Derbew.
Derbew, who is on a three day official visit to India, Tuesday discussed bilateral trade and business issues with Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution K.V. Thomas.
Derbew said his country would like to take advantage of Indian experience, not only in the area of mechanised farming but also in food security system.
Thomas urged the Ethiopian minister to set up single window system for various clearances to Indian entrepreneurs for taking up commercial farming in Ethiopia.
He said that India can provide technical expertise in the area of watershed development and standardisation of various food products.
