From the photographers, Terra Project:

GEO France assigned the collective the task of documenting in Ethiopia, Brazil and the Philippines, the different cases and reasons of the so-called "land grabbing", a phenomenon which became more prominent after the 2008 food crisis and which has seen private companies and governments investing in large-scale agriculture by acquiring or leasing land, either within the national boundaries or abroad. This practice has different levels of impacts, but is under scrutiny by several international organizations, mainly because of its impact on small-holder farmers and indigenous people, who do not have formal tenure over the land they cultivate.

TerraProject is continuing the project by visiting other countries and planning to produce the first global documentation of this important issue.
